August 2024
It is 20 years this month since New Hope for Africa(UK) came into being following a visit to the school by Gill Gifford and the late Jean Swain in August 2004. The link below will take you to a series of photographs showing the progress your donations have brought about during this time.
Twenty Years of New Hope for Africa (UK)
A team from 360 Vision for Africa based in the USA are visiting the school this month and they will provide a visit report that will be shared on this website in due course.
July 2024
- A big thank you to the staff and pupils of St Andrew’s Primary School in Maghull, Liverpool, and particularly Simon and Phil who ran 18 miles on July 3rd tagging one another and with the children joining in. They raised £1,000 which will be sent to the school to buy a variety of much-needed items for the children there.
June 2023
One key priority following the February visit was to improve the kitchen facilities that provides meals to all the children, young people and staff every day. It was possible to make £11,000 available for the construction work to go ahead.
March 2023
The first visit to the school, post-pandemic, took place in February 2023. The link below will tell you all that was accomplished by the team.
January 2022
After 21 months the Ugandan government reopened schools to all year groups.
December 2021
It has been a longstanding tradition for the children and young people living at the school to have a special meal on Christmas Day. A time to put on your best clothes and the photos below show people enjoying the occassion.
